Introduction

To share

Mouhalabieh is a typical Lebanese dessert. The texture is between flan and dessert cream, flavored with orange blossom water. It’s super good, quick to make and accessible to all. We finish a meal all in freshness and indulgence. Yum yum.

The extra thing:

  • You can add a touch of honey by taking the mouhalabieh out of the fridge.
  • Add almonds or other dried fruits with or in place of pistachio powder.

Ingredients

50 cl whole milk
25 g sugar
30g cornstarch
2 tbsp orange blossom water
2 tbsp pistachio powder

Instructions

1
Mix the cornstarch and a little milk (about 1/4) in a bowl to dilute the cornstarch.
Then pour into a saucepan with the rest of the milk and the sugar and bring to a low heat.
2
While cooking, whisk the mixture to obtain a homogeneous and thick cream.
Remove from the heat and stir in the orange blossom water.
3
Then pour the cream into ramekins or glasses and leave to set in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Sprinkle with pistachio powder just before serving.
