The rocky road cake is a typical American cake. It is made of chocolate, looks a bit like a brownie, and we add marshmallows and nuts. Everything is served with a delicious caramel or cocoa sauce. It’s super simple, really sweet but what is it good…

Ingredients
220 g dark chocolate | |
125 g butter | |
2 egg | |
1 pinch salt | |
125 g flour | |
100 g brown sugar | |
90g pecan nuts | |
200 g mini marshmallow | |
150 g cocoa powder | |
15 cl milk | |
1 packet of vanilla sugar |
Instructions

Line a square pan with parchment paper.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. |

Pour the butter and chocolate into a bowl and melt in the microwave for 30 seconds at half power.
In another bowl, break the eggs, add the brown sugar and salt and beat using an electric mixer or a food processor until the mixture is homogeneous. |

Add the butter/chocolate mixture then the flour and mix until the preparation is homogeneous.
Stop whisking and incorporate the nuts and half of the marshmallows using a spatula. Pour the mixture into the mold and bake for 35 minutes. |

The center of the cake should be tender.
Unmold cake onto wire rack and sprinkle with remaining marshmallows. |

Prepare the chocolate sauce by mixing the cocoa powder and the milk with a fork to obtain a slightly thick sauce. If necessary add cocoa or milk depending on the desired consistency.
Drizzle the cocoa sauce over the cake. Serve warm or cold. |
