Maple Syrup Roasted Ham is a traditional American and Canadian recipe. The ham is caramelized on the outside and is delicately flavored with maple syrup.

The extra thing:

  • Serve with vegetables or pasta.
  • For the maple syrup glaze, add 100g of brown sugar for an even more caramelized result, replace the maple syrup with honey, add thyme.
  • Use a food probe to obtain perfect cooking, the temperature must be stopped at 70°C at the core.
  • The ham bone can be used in a soup.

Ingredients

1 ham of 2kg avec l’os
250g maple syrup

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Prepare the ham: remove the rind with a knife, taking care to keep a thin film of fat without touching the flesh.
Cut the ham with a knife, making diamond shapes.

Line a baking dish with aluminum foil.
Place the ham in the baking dish.
Pour the maple syrup and bake.

Baste the ham with its juice every 20 minutes.
The ham should be cooked after 45-60 minutes.

Let rest.
Sprinkle with its juice before serving.
